Your responsibilities

  • Academic engagement with Italian-language/French-language literature in the global Romania
  • Independent research in the field of Romance literature/cultural studies with the possibility of habilitation
  • Participation in research projects led by Prof. Steffen Schneider and in the GEWI focus area Transmediterranean Interconnections
  • Organisation of conferences
  • University teaching in the field of Romance literature and cultural studies as well as student supervision
  • Participation in the examination activities of the Institute of Romance Studies
  • Contribution to raising the profile of the Institute of Romance Studies / Faculty of Humanities at the University of Graz in the field of literature and cultural studies
  • Collaboration on organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures at the Institute of Romance Studies

*with the option of an increase after 2 years

Your profile

  • Completed doctoral studies in Romance Studies in the field of Romance literature
  • Outline for a research/habilitation project in the field of Romance literature (Italian or French literature)
  • Very good knowledge of Italian
  • Very good knowledge of French
  • Very good knowledge of German
  • Interest in Mediterranean studies and/or ecocritical issues
  • Relevant publications
  • Experience in organising conferences and scientific projects
  • University teaching experience (familiarity with digital higher education)
  • Scientific curiosity
  • Initiative and commitment, as well as communication and teamwork skills

We offer a gross annual salary of €70,200.20 based on full-time employment.
