Media Education Conference 2026, 3–4 September 2026

The Media Didactics Working Group (AK) within the Media Education Section of the German Society for Educational Research brings together researchers from German-speaking countries who are engaged in the design of digital technology for educational purposes. The conferences organised by the Media Didactics Working Group provide an opportunity to present the current activities of research groups in German-speaking countries and to further expand networking. At the same time, they provide an opportunity to reflect on the positioning of media didactics research and its methodology. To this end, a particular focus this year will be placed on the relationship between media didactics and subject-specific didactics research questions, and how these can be addressed jointly. A special track entitled ‘Media Didactics meets Subject Didactics’ will examine the associated challenges and opportunities.
