The second research workshop on foreign language teaching took place on 11 June 2026 at the University of Klagenfurt and offered early-career researchers from the University of Graz and the University of Klagenfurt the opportunity to present their master’s or doctoral theses, to network, exchange ideas, discover common ground and discuss new perspectives. The poster presentations by the students and project staff were commented on by one another. Experienced experts in foreign language teaching from both universities acted as ‘critical friends’ and provided valuable feedback. The Department of Romance Studies was represented by two Master’s students, Julia Tuider and Zalán Vécsey, as well as by our PhD student Chiara Guggenberger, who also outlined the doctoral theses of Tizian Ruckenbauer and Viola Schlögl. They were accompanied by Simona Bartoli-Kucher, Associate Professor of Didactics of Romance Languages and Literatures, and Barbara Hinger, Professor of Foreign Language Didactics. We would like to thank Roger Dale Jones, Professor of English Language Teaching at the University of Klagenfurt, for organising the event, and Sarah Mercer, Professor of English Language Teaching at the University of Graz, for initiating the exchange, which she launched in Graz in 2025. We wish the Master’s and PhD students continued success in their work, every success, motivation, the necessary perseverance and much enjoyment in their research!
