On September 18, 2024, the Accademia della Crusca in Florence hosted the award ceremony for the 13th edition of the Giovanni Rencioni Prize, which is awarded annually for a dissertation in Italian linguistics defended outside Italy.
This year, the prize was awarded ex aequo to Dr. Alice Martignoni, who recently joined the team at the Institute of Romance Studies as a Senior Lecturer. The title of her dissertation, which she wrote at the University of Toronto and the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris, is "Un cas de plurilinguisme en Provence au début de l'époque moderne. Étude, analyse linguistique et édition critique du Laudario de Brignoles et de quelques textes dévotionnels occitans dans le ms. 913 de la Mediatèca occitana, CIRDOC-Béziers".
