Last week, the Department of Romance Studies opened its doors to interested parties to allow them to experience the diversity and depth of the Romance disciplines. Lecturers from the fields of linguistics, literary studies, cultural studies, language training and specialised didactics offered exciting insights into their work.
The taster week invited students to get to know the Romance languages and cultures, ask questions and be inspired by the fascination of Romance languages and cultures. It was particularly pleasing that schools from all over Styria took part online or in person, including Graz, Bruck an der Mur, Bad Radkersburg, Judenburg, Leoben and Deutschlandsberg. Pupils from both general secondary schools (AHS) and vocational secondary schools (BHS) took the opportunity to take part in regular courses or to experience Romance studies teaching and research at first hand in specially designed workshops.
We are delighted with the great interest shown and hope to welcome many of the participants as students at our institute soon! A big thank you to all participants and the teachers who took advantage of our offer with their students.
