Your tasks

  • Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the field of Romance literature/cultural studies
  • Academic analysis of Spanish-language and/or French-language literatures in the global Romania
  • Collaboration in research projects of the Institute of Romance Studies, especially in the field of Hispanic literary studies
  • Independent research (publication of articles, participation in conferences, lectures)
  • Independent teaching of courses in the Bachelor's degree programme in Romance Studies (French, Spanish) and teaching subject French, Spanish as well as collaboration in teaching and examination tasks of the Institute of Romance Studies (in the field of Romance literary and cultural studies)
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in organisational, administrative and mediation tasks at the Institute of Romance Studies

Your profile

  • Completed degree in Romance Studies or completed teacher training programme (Diplom/Magister/Master's degree); a focus on literary studies is desirable
  • Dissertation project in the field of Romance literature/cultural studies
  • Excellent knowledge of Spanish
  • Good knowledge of another Romance language (preferably French) is desirable
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Confident handling of common digital applications for online teaching (e.g. Moodle)
  • Academic curiosity and interest in working on current research questions
  • Independent working style and initiative
  • Strong teamwork and organisational skills

  • Complete proof of completion of the degree programme required in the job advertisement
  • The language certificate required in the curriculumlanguage certificatein the language in which you would like to complete the doctoral programme (Attention:Admissionrequired!). For the specialisation/dissertation subject Romance Studies as part of the doctoral programme at the Faculty of Humanities a language certificate for German or English or a language certificate at language level C1 according to CEFR from a Romance language must be provided.

Please enclose a short synopsis of your dissertation project in the field of Romance literature/cultural studies with your application (max. 5 pages).

We offer a gross annual salary of € 50,103.20 on a full-time basis.
